Overview

Myth: Workplace teams own the company culture.
Truth: Company culture is owned by… you guessed it: the entire company. And the executive team is primarily responsible for it.

Myth: Culture is just about happy hours, year-end parties, and catered lunches.
Truth: Culture is how the company's mission, vision, and values are translated and embodied daily.

As workplace leaders, we are deeply involved in embedding company culture, often in ways that aren’t immediately obvious. Yes, we organize happy hours, but that’s just one tool in our cultural toolkit. Our responsibilities extend to a wide array of programs and initiatives that must align closely with the company's cultural DNA. This alignment requires a thoughtful, even philosophical, approach to the day-to-day operations we manage.

Whether it's about embodying company values or matching the organization's tone and style, the choices we make in our domain send powerful messages about culture to employees.

For our first Ownership Series, we want you to bring a successful example where you embedded a cultural element into your employee-facing programs.

  • What specific value or ethos were you aiming to reinforce?

  • How did you navigate any disparities between employee and executive understanding?

  • What was your biggest challenge in the process?

  • What tangible outcomes resulted from this initiative?

Join us for an insightful, hour-long discussion on Wednesday, November 20 at 9:00am PST / 12:00pm EST, where we’ll explore how every aspect of our work can reflect and reinforce the culture our companies strive to build.
